Do I need to move furniture before interior painting?
Short Answer
Yes, we recommend moving furniture to the centre of the room or out of the area entirely. Our team will also take precautions to cover and protect your furniture from paint splashes and dust.
Long Answer
Before beginning any interior painting project, it’s important to clear the space to ensure that both your furniture and the surrounding environment remain protected. While we take great care in covering and shielding everything in sight, moving furniture out of the immediate painting area is still a good idea for optimal results.
If you're unable to move heavy furniture on your own, our team can assist with relocating smaller items to the centre of the room or to another part of your home. By moving furniture out of the way, we create ample space to work efficiently, without the risk of paint accidentally splattering onto valuable items. Additionally, it makes it easier to access the walls and other surfaces for a more thorough and accurate painting job.
For larger furniture pieces that cannot be moved, we cover them with protective sheeting or plastic drop cloths to prevent any paint from getting on them. We also protect floors with high-quality drop cloths to ensure that there is no risk of spills or drips damaging your carpets or hardwood floors.
For extra protection, we will mask off trim, light fixtures, electrical outlets, and any other areas that should not be painted. If you're unsure how much preparation is needed before we arrive, don’t worry! Our team is happy to offer advice and help with moving or covering furniture before the job begins.
